Ballard born Chef Alex Marek is no stranger to Steaks and Seafood! His previous experiences span places like Little Water Cantina, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and our very own Shooby Doo Catering. His style of cuisine is flavorful, comforting and approachable. It embodies the Northwest spirit in which he was derived from. Join him for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner and be prepared to leave satisfied!

One half of a sisterly duo on our management team is Laura Engels. Her hospitality career has flourished with us at Salt and Iron, starting with us as a host and quickly being promoted through the ranks. With a background in theatre, she knows how to make your event a stageworthy performance!

After living in Yakima, Seattle, and Alaska, Patrick (like many of us) has fallen in love with Edmonds and is excited to call it Home. You may recognize him from his days behind the bar here at Salt and Iron. His start in the hospitality industry was actually in the kitchen, but from there moved to the front of house, working his way up to bartender, then manager at places such as The Chapel (Capitol Hill), and Lowell’s (Pike Place). Notably the most friendly guy you will ever meet, be sure to say hi!

Chef Kaytlin has a creative sweet and savory side. She manages Feedme Hospitality Restaurant Group's pastry program as well as our Catering program at Shooby Doo Catering. Her creativity expands over a dozen different cuisines and styles. Her team will dazzle you with the most satisfying sweets you've ever had!

Skyeler brings over 13 years of culinary experience to our team. Making his bones in iconic Seattle restaurants such as Lecosho, Cactus, and Il Corvo, he most recently served as Executive Chef for Precept Wine Group. Skyeler’s unique perspective on food and flavors from around the world is only rivaled by his understanding of hospitality. Make sure to try one of his delicious specials on our daily fresh sheet!

Val is the other half of our sisterly duo. A graduate of the culinary program at BTC in Bellingham, Val went on to intern in France where she refined her skills. Before moving to Edmonds, she cooked at Semiahmoo Resort and served as Chef de Cuisine at Aslan Brewing. Her passion for music is reflected in her artful cuisine!

Trevor is another Edmonds local on our team. Having spent over 5 years at Anthony’s right here on the waterfront, he has also worked at Bistro 76 in Perronville, and the Seattle Yacht Club. He also brings banquet experience from 12 Baskets Catering. His journey through the kitchen has been earned the “old-school” way, having started as a dishwasher, learning a love for cooking, and working his way through the hot line and up to Sous Chef. His passion for food will surely be noticed on your plate!
